Can I self-drive the Toyota Alphard in Zanzibar?
Yes, available for self-drive with a valid home licence and a Zanzibar local permit (~$10, arranged before you arrive). A driver option is also available on request.
How many people does the Alphard seat?
7 passengers including the driver two captain’s chairs in the middle row and a three-seat rear bench. For 8 passengers it is tight; we recommend asking about a second vehicle for larger groups.
Is the Alphard suitable for Zanzibar roads?
Yes for all main tarmac routes Nungwi, Paje, Kendwa, Jambiani. Not recommended for rough off-road tracks or remote beach access. For those routes, the RAV4 or Prado is a better fit.
Is a deposit required?
No. Zanzibar Rentals does not charge a deposit. You pay only when you collect the car in cash or mobile money. No credit card hold, no blocked funds.
Can I pick up the Alphard at Zanzibar Airport?
