Quote and contact requests: your name, WhatsApp number, email address (if provided), preferred vehicle, pickup location, rental dates and any notes you add.
Bookings: your full name, phone number, email, flight details, hotel or delivery address, and copies of your driving licence and passport or national ID.
Driving permit assistance: if you ask us to help with your Zanzibar driving permit, the licence and identity details needed for the application.
Messages: anything you send us by WhatsApp, phone, email or social media.
Newsletter: your email address, if you choose to subscribe.

Information collected automatically

Basic technical data when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and how you arrived at our site.
Cookie and similar data used for website analytics and advertising (see section 8).

Payment information

If you pay online, your card is processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.

3. How we use your information

To answer your enquiries and send you quotes.
To arrange and manage your rental, including airport meet & greet, delivery and collection.
To prepare your rental agreement and check that you meet our rental requirements.
To help with your Zanzibar driving permit application, if you ask us to.
To process payments and keep business and tax records.
To handle accidents, breakdowns, insurance claims, traffic fines or disputes.
To send travel tips and offers, only if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To understand how visitors use our website and to measure our online advertising.

We use your information because it is needed to provide the rental you asked for, because we must keep certain records by law, because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business, or because you have given your consent (for example, to our newsletter or marketing cookies).

4. Who we share your information with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only when needed with:

Government authorities: the Zanzibar authorities that issue driving permits, if you ask us to help with your permit application; and police or other authorities where required by law, for example after an accident or traffic offence.
Our insurer: if there is an accident, damage or theft involving the vehicle.
Payment provider: to process online card payments.
Communication and technology providers: such as WhatsApp (Meta), our email provider, our website host and Google (analytics and advertising).

Some of these providers may store information outside Tanzania. We use well-known providers that protect your data with appropriate security measures.

5. How long we keep your information

Enquiries that do not become a booking: up to 12 months.
Booking records, rental agreements and payment records: as long as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes, usually up to 5 years.
Copies of driving licences and ID: for the rental period plus 90 days, unless needed for an open claim, fine or dispute.
Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

6. How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, including limiting access to staff who need it, using secure (HTTPS) connections on our website and storing documents securely. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable data protection law in Tanzania, including the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, you can ask us to:

tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
delete your information where we no longer need to keep it;
stop sending you marketing messages.

8. Cookies and online advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:

Our website links to other sites such as TripAdvisor, Instagram and WhatsApp. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

Our services are for adults. Drivers must be at least 21 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children, except where a parent or guardian gives it to us as part of a family booking.
